I have known these ladies, Sonya and Lori from Ottawa Property Gals, since the start of my photography career, almost 5 years ago. I remember meeting them every other Tuesday mornings at Colannade Pizza in Kanata. Our little networking group was small and intimate. I had the opportunity to develop real friendships with all the professionals in this group. Talking about it makes me feel a bit nostalgic for some reason. Through the years, we supported each other through referrals and business advice. When the networking group had to come to end, I was sad because it was the first networking group I joined officially after attending other groups.
Last year, these ladies helped me sell my matrimonial home. They didn’t just list the house for sale. Sonya and Lori came in and staged the house for me, as I was busy taking care of the kids full time and working a full-time job. It was important for me to work with someone I could trust because my home was full of toys and clutter that accumulated over the years.
During the sales, the ladies knew how challenging it would be for me to leave the house by 7 am and stay out until 7 pm with 3 kids. They made sure that the house viewings would happen at the times that would work for me. I couldn’t have done it without their help. When it comes to working with someone, I find that it is so important to have someone who pays attention to details and the willingness to go a little beyond their job description. I trust that they have my best interests at heart instead of taking it as just business.
Now we are going in full circles. I was so excited to do this branding shoot for them. It goes back to the importance of trust because being in front of the camera is scarier than getting your tooth pulled out for some of us. With trust, the awkwardness dissipates rather quickly and they show up as themselves in photographs. They just look like a million bucks. I love these ladies!
Look them up at Ottawa Property Gals
